For sale is a Winchester 1887 lever action shotgun project. Unfortunately this is out of my league, and I’d like to pass it on to someone who can restore it, or use the parts for a restoration. Based on it’s serial number 56,758 it was made in 1895 and can be transferred directly to the winning bidder. I believe this is a 12 gauge, as it chambers a 12 bore snap cap well. The 32” barrel is not marked 12 or 10 on top. The receiver, barrel, and magazine tube are in the white, as it someone was preparing it for bluing. All small parts look to have been soaked to remove rust. The 32” barrel is probably not usable for shooting as there is a cut on the left side about 12” from the breech as if someone wanted to shorten it. The top of the lever unit has the same wear as the top of the receiver, but the lever handle has been bent and won’t allow the lever to close completely in the receiver. The best part is probably the buttstock as it fits the receiver well and has has a chip in the heel as shown. Forearm halves appear to be quite usable, with the receiver lugs both present. The buttplate appears to be the original to the buttstock as there are matching wear marks I. at least two spots. Parts I see missing are the link pin, hammer, mainspring, and I’m not sure what else. Please see photos for details on what you are getting and condition as this lot is sold as is. I hope someone wants the old girl, I didn’t want to part her out on EBay. As this was made in 1895, I understand it can be shipped directly to you. Probably better listed someplace else, but folks here have been great to me so here goes. Sold as is with no return, $300 OBO plus $25 shipping. First “I’ll take it” followed by a PM will own it. I prefer PayPal friends and family, but I will work with you. PM questions, or if you need photos of something not shown. Thanks.
