Bought on a whim 6-7 years ago. Sporter barrel, good condition. Any ideas?

There’s one on GB right now listed for $1695.
I think that is too much for a post 1964 m70, regardless of chambering.

I’ve got one of those. Mine is a sporter deluxe. It has the nicest piece of walnut I’ve seen on a production rifle. Fortunately I bought 10 boxes of ammo and 10 boxes of Super X virgin brass from an old gunsmith friend of mine or I couldn’t afford to shoot it these days. I believe I paid $225 for it in 1997.
Tough call. Ammunition and brass is scarce and expensive.
A collector might drool over it, if it is in LNIB.
Good luck.

I had a 225 win in a Sako L579 heavy barrel single shot.
I'm talking 35-40 years ago, brass was available then.
Rifle shot great, shot some 1/2" groups at 200 yards a few times.
Why did I ever get rid of it????
Said that to say this, if you decide to shoot it, it runs just a few% behind
a 22-250, excellent varmint round... If you can find brass, still have my dies....
