    Antique 32-20 loading tool ?

Does this appear to be a 32-20 Ideal loading tool ? If not what 32 cal ? Looks to be in excellent working condition.

I think it is for Colt's .32 New Police. About the same as .32 S&W Long , but with a flat nose bullet.

Yup 32 New Police. I think I may even have one when I was looking for the 32 Long Colt.

That flat nosed bullet is very effective at revolver velocities. The bullet seating mode on those old Ideal tong tools was fixed in depth for a specific bullet and case length. Therefore, for one cartridge design, (with the proper powder charge of course) that tool can make some very fine ammunition. Nice find! Enjoy it.

Thanks so much. Inherited a bunch of old reloading items. This 32 NP was one of them. Again thanks.
