I use the 311008 PB 115gr and the 311316 111gr GC in my 32-20. I also load them in my 30-40, 308 and '06 for a light plinker.

    Hi Wayne.

The 32-20's I shoot mainly is in an original Win. model 92 but I also use the same load for my S&W M&P. IIRC (data not available to me at the moment) I use 4.5gr of Unique with small rifle primers for the rifle and small pistol primers for the revolver. I am not sure that I could not use the small rifle primers exclusively but I am just going by what my old Ideal manuals recommended.

I would think your Contender would like the rifle loads but I have never loaded for one myself. My load is fairly mild in the rifle but very accurate in that old Mod. 92. Since these loads shoot well for me and my guns are old I dont try to make them hotter.

I use the 3118/311008 in large quantity in the 32 H&R in a pistol. I have used 4.0 gr. Unique. I am going to try sr-4756 this year.

Ken Waters had an article in Pet Loads on the 32-20. Brass trimming was the key to accuracy. He had some great loads. I use the 311316 in the 32-20, 308, 30-30, 303 Savage and will try it in 30-06 and 30-40 Krag one day. I only go for the 1500 fps in the larger ones and use Unique. In the 32-20 I .....huh, well I can't recall what I use. Dang my memory and my load book is way out in the shop. I'll try an remember to look it up tomorrow.

    Lyman 311359 GC

I have shot these in 30 carbine. 30-30 Contender 30-06 bolt gun.

Red dot for the rifles and 3031 for the 06 also. For the carbine 2400 and 4227 all the Carbine loads are book max for J-word bullets.

Not had a problem finding a good usable load in any of these guns. I was casting them hard (Lyman #2) and Lyman black lube .

The 302 is a great mold. This bullet an 10 grains of Trail Boss in a 30-06 is a sweethart load. The nose section is small enough not to cause problems in a tight bore K-31.
