    The Millennium

Who believes there will be a millennial period?
What actions take place prior to the beginning?
What purposes will be served by the millennium?
Who do you think will be awake for it?

It is a difficult part of scripture for my to understand.

So, after the Tribulation and defeat of evil, Christ returns and rules on earth for 1000 years. 1000 years is but a bat of eye in terms of eternity.

And what happens after 1000 years? It seems unlikely that eternity ends. Perhaps mankind ceases to exists and the earth is gone...no longer needed. The believers who were raptured and those who become believers after the rapture and during the 1000 year reign of Jesus are the only souls that will be in heaven for eternity.

I am left with the term "insufficient data".

My grasp of it says the millennium is for a purpose. And that after that purpose is fulfilled the devil is turned loose for a short time, also for a purpose. Because I understand that we're here in these meat suits to decide whether to love father or to rebel against Him, well, I'd say the devil gets turned loose and those who want to go with him get to go with him. Those who want to go with father go with father.

So the millennium must be about helping you make the choice.

Last night I was reading DL Moody to put the wife to sleep.
Some nights her feet just burn, gone muggy here, dew point in the 30's.
Did you know that sermons work well as a sleep aide?
Read Moody to her for five minutes, she was snoring.
    Awesome Power of Prayer.

Moody wrote that it is fine to say "I don't know"
when faced with a question I can't answer.
    "Even so, Jesus come quickly"

Are you familiar with the millennium being a time of teaching, the time when God's children get make up their minds?

    I must be thick.

Jesus rules for 1000 years. What happens after His rule?

The people at the start of His 1000 year reign are all believers. But they will have children; and we all know children will not always follow the beliefs of their parents. During those 1000 years, many people will be born and decide not to choose Jesus as their savior. Jesus will deal with them "with an iron rod". It makes sense that if God had to deal with evil in heaven within the first few days of Creation, He will need to deal with evil during the Millenium.

I find the passages in Isaiah and Revelations that talk about the new heaven and new earth interesting. It is easy to justify and understand God creating a new earth free from evil and sin. Why does God create a new heaven? What is wrong or deficient in the current heaven?

I accept God is not perfect. (BTW, the idea of God being perfect has almost no support in scripture, but the belief has been beaten into us by theologians. It is what we want to believe, and most people accept it without study.) God did not create a perfect heaven. If He had, Lucifer and 1/3 of the angles would not have been cast out within the first few days of Creation. Does the "new heaven" address remnants of evil still lingering in heaven that must be expunged? It is likely beyond my comprehension to understand why a new heaven is created, but I still wonder about it. One thing seems certain. God will not be satisfied with heaven and will create a new heaven.

In all my Wednesday nights Sunday mornings, camps, comp lit,

this second coming study goes round and round
and it's a good study to see how we see the Bible
ask three Baptists, get five opinions.
Is it a political litmus test?
If you write it, I'll read it...

The nattering acolytes of scientism believe protons have a half-life
and they don't know how long before all this fizzes away.
God knows how long, He made them, protons, scientists and all.

    Me?
    I only know the Promises
I was saved, spared for a reason known only to my Savior.
Book says I am here to serve Him and His, not to try His Infinite Patience.

Deceiver's first lie-- ...hath God said... did God really say? is still heard in this world.

Every day this side of the dirt is a blessing and an opportunity to serve Him.
His Will will certainly be done.

Our creator not being perfect (whatever it means) is a concept that never before entered my mind.
And I'll reject it now for the sake of clarity.

This is a brief video presentation with Dr. Michael Heiser providing some great input touching upon the millennium.

Another view, that there will be more saved during the millennium than at any other time.

God is perfect. Omnipotent omnipresent infinite. He laughs at Facebook.
We colorize infrared pictures of His Creation, clever, looking at His heavens
only to find out we will always need a bigger telescope.

Jesus is the only perfect man to walk this fallen world.
Adam was created perfect, and chose to fall with his wife.
So us sons of man could be adopted children of God one day: if.

Jesus promised we could be perfect some bright day,
    if we choose the Light
not as of lunchtime today, but soon.

I will desist pointing out you are reading the Book backward
starting at the end, which will happen as God Wills, miraculously.
I am glad to see you reading it.
I urge you all to teach, preach the Gospel, save America from itself.
Or at best save who we might. We are the only Bible some will ever see.
You can't do this alone, but in fellowship and shared prayer.
With the Power of the Paraclete:
"...and then the end shall come."
    "...quickly."
