    square roll crimp

    what is it and how is it done with a hand roll crimper? and what does it look like when completed?

    What exactly do you mean? I roll crimp 12 ga and 20 ga shells and I use the BPI Products roll crimping tool which you use in a drill press. What is different with it from earlier roll crimp tools is that it has round pin that goes in through the side that I believe is to start the mouth edge of the case to start to bevel in. When the crimp is finished and you look at the shell from mouth end the top of the crimp looks flat. Is what you are talking about?

    To my understanding a square role crimp - is a level role crimp not lopsided .

    Thought I put this up for you once before? The Red one is a BPI Square Roll Crimp, the Blue one is a Factory Roll Crimp The White ones are all BPI Roll Crimps

    The BPI Brand Roll Crimpers generate a Square Roll Crimp and you can see the Square Edge on the Red ones and White ones..

    yes thank you for the post on it. it was only talked about when using the ancient old hand roll crimpers not using a drill press. that is where I saw it mentioned.
