I picked up a blue one about 15 years ago and a hunting buddy got a stainless one. I really like it.

I have an older blued one, they come with a nice thick pad and to me its more of a push than a sharp kick, but I don't mind my Browning 1886 45-70 carbine with a slip on pad and warm loads.
To me it's my best walking woods rifle, 6.5lb hog and deer DRT.

What kind of velocity does the 454 get out of a Rossi or other carbine barrel?

Puma 92 454-Casull (great compliment to the Freedom Arms model 83 on the hip)

    My favorite walking around smasher.
This bears internals looked like red mashed potatoes and he was chin on the ground dead on the spot.
I think it kicks about like a 12 gauge slug
The 45LC out of it is a mild kitty cat

$890 wow . To rich for me . That was the only one I seen at sportsman warehouse. Looks good. I have a 20 inch 44 mag that is a great little rifle. I wish they were available when I bought my 44 . I may have gotten the 454 instead. If anyone gets ahold of one of these new ones please report . Thanks Bob

One thing I noticed looking at pics of the new ones, it didnt look like they had the tube loading feature just side loading.
Hard to tell from the pics I saw online.

Rossi only have side gate no tube loading capability. Unless older models were different?

With the Puma you can load either from the side gate or through the tube.
The Tube option makes unloading easier.

The current one has both per Rossi https://rossiusa.com/rifles/lever-ac...tainless-20-in
