Powder Coating Copper Jacketed Boolits.

I have a crazy question that I never thought I'd be asking myself. Due to unseen forces (ukraine the 51st state) I have not been able to find a 123gr ranged .310 Boat-tailed boolit for almost 2 years. I would like to develop the load for a rifle before I start pushing daisies, but I can not find components. However I can find a polithera of them in .308 and I am thinking I could just PC them to get me going with this project.

Has anyone powder coated jacketed boolits to increase the diameter, with any success worth mentioning?

Yep. They shot just fine. .002" should be just fine. Remember, Super Vel used undersized bullets to get the velocities they did.

I did some tests with 8mm and 303 where I needed 0.002" larger bullets. I didn't see any improvement over the undersized jacketted bullets.
I'll probably not try it again.
PC as more difficulty to stick to copper as well.

I used to get good results loading .308" jacketed boolits in my 7.7mm Arisaka. Normally it shoots a .311" projectile but they can be hard to find and were more expensive. These days I have more hunting rifles than I'll ever get a chance to shoot at game with so this is no longer a problem for me. I'd say try some .308" projectiles and see how they shoot.

I’ve PCed cast boolits to increase their diameter. I don’t see why it won’t work for jacketed..
