    Pressure Testing

Now that H.P. White has gone, is there anyone left who will perform pressure testing of our favorite reloads?

Give a shout out for member Larry Gibson. He may have already done what you want to know!

Yes, Mr. Gibson has published quite a bit of information. I hesitate to trouble him with my own trivial concerns, though.

    What are your trivial concerns?

Larry, I just today saw your kind post! I had thought the thread dead. Please forgive my tardy reply.

I was interested in concocting a .220 Swift load to approximate the old .22 Savage HP. I had acquired a 1903 Springfield with a 1 in 8 twist Swift barrel. My though was to load it with 70 grain Speer bullets, to about 45,000 psi working pressure, in deference to the 1918 vintage action. I though I had enough data to make a reasonable estimate, but then, you know how that can go.

Since my post I became disenchanted with the setup, and have sold the rifle. I do appreciate your kindness, though. Bill

I don't have a 220 Swift test rifle or barrel so it would have required using your rifle. Florida is a long way away from Arizona so that project would have proven difficult but not insurmountable. I appreciate the reply.
