    40-90 Sharps BN powders?

    Hi Guys,
    Newbie question.
I have a Sharps in 40-90 BN (necked) and I have some .409" 398g bullets, but the only data I can find is for IMR4198, and that I cannot procure.
I'm looking for about 1300 fps, which is some 150fps below max, so mild but not wimpy.
Any advice on what powders would work and what to avoid

Sorry, should have specified nitro/smokeless powder.
The rifle should handle smokeless as I believe it is only about 20 years old, been sitting new and unfired as nobody had the ammo

Twist rate appears to be about 1:16.5"
I'll give 5744 a try, do you get inconsistency with larger cases?

That twist should handle the 400-420 bullets. Good luck with your project
