^^^^^ that. My load isn't much different. I'm using a 311290 and 40 grains of IMR 4895 for 2,200 fps. 32 grains of IMR 4895 and a 311284 is a real bell ringer too.

10 rounds at 100 yds from my win 70 featherweight.

I use a 50:50 pure lead and wheel weight mix in a NOE 311165 in my 30.30 & 30.06. Fastest is around 1900fps out of the ought 6 and a tad slower in the 30.30.

I've killed quite a few deer with that bullet in both rifles. Several threads on here from me with deer killed with this bullet.

Another here who has successfully used the 311041 in numerous 30-06 rifles both CRF and PF types. To feed from the magazine reliably the OAL needs to be adjusted for the action and the timing of the case rim's release from the action or magazine rail, particularly from the left side of a staggered magazine. Shouldn't be any feed issues with the newer single stack magazines.

For my 30-06, I’ll use either the Lee C309-200R or the C309170F
    Both going around 2000fps.
    Same for the 30-40 Krag.

I’ve had much better luck with flat nose in the .30/30 and .30/06 on game.
At the cost of a Lee mold, you can’t go wrong. 150gr FNGC in .30/30 (@158gr) and 170gr FN in .30/06 (@180gr as-cast).

I’ve had best accuracy with either SPG or NRA 50/50 lube.
And by far, a .311” sizing and a Hornady gas check.

If have, and want to use a round nose, I suggest either filing a .2” flat or hollow pointing them. It doesn’t take much! I clip the bullets in a wood cloths pin and clamp the pin in a drill bed. I use an automatic center punch to mark the tip and drill a 3/8” deep hole with a 3/16” drill bit. Even an off center bullet shoots as accurately or better than an undrilled bullet.

The first deer I shot with a .338ME using the Lee .339” 220gr RNGC (24gr #2400 @ 1800fps) flinched at the shot then ran like crazy out of sight. I only found tuffs of hair and a few drops of blood. (25yd shot. I saw the bullet impact about 1” above heart, just aft of humerus. Never saw him again. The next year I used hollow pointed bullet over 40gr of RL15 @2,100fps. 70yd shot, same bullet placement, deer ran 30yds and dropped! 2” exit wound. Made me a believer…
