    Kibler Kits

Jjim Kibler's offerings are on the money for build, performance and value. Built a .54 Colonial about 4 years ago, just completed a .45 SMR, have another .54 Colonial up on the workbench. His new Woodsrunner kit looks like another winner, too. These kits will require some tooling and some smarts, not for everyone, but world's better than those offshore "screwdriver" kits and their annoying patent breech plugs. If you can well handle files, rasps, chisels, scrapers, etc, do try a Kibler kit, you won't be disappointed.

I've been looking at Kibler's kits but buying any gun, even a ML kit, while living in Oregon has become a real problem. I suspect I won't be buying anything that even resembles a gun in the future.

Does Jim make the locks? I have one of his locks on a rifle, works well!
The solid soft lead bullet is undoubtably the best and most satisfactory expanding bullet that has ever been designed. It invariably mushrooms perfectly, and never breaks up. With the metal base that is essential for velocities of 2000 f.s. and upwards to protect the naked base, these metal-based soft lead bullets are splendid.

Muzzleloaders aren't really guns just pretend toys and I'm sticking with that, cause if those in charge had a clue we'd be throwing rocks and not watching for sparks !

I moved from there after almost 57 years over 6 years ago. Miss my son but best thing I ever did. Love it here in a free state.
Those are some interesting prices. Quality match the price?

I’m not into flint lock rifles but if he would offer a percussion hawken style kit I believe I’d try one.

You need a rock lock because primers can get scarce and keeping all your eggs in 1 basket could turn your muzzys into fence posts !

I got one of Jim's early Colonial kits in 58 with a Rice barrel that has round bottom rifling. GREAT kit!

I shot one of his Woodsrunner rifles in .54 cal last sunday at the club last Sunday. Wow you talk about balanced, it just laid out there really nice. I have been shooting percussion for a few years (I know) this was the first time to shoot a flintlock, it would take some getting used to. I liked it ...........................Curdog

If you mean metal, yes, I never blue or brown bbls and locks - they're left to patina on their own, as many guns of their era were.
