45 bucks a lb.!!!!! Ouch!! I am not THAT interested but thanks for letting us know. Sign of the times I guess.
As long as it sells the price will stay high and if I was out I would probably pay that.

Just paid $53 with tax for 1 pound of AA 5744. Looks like we better get used to it!
I'm not so upset about the price, as to the fact that midway no longer does free shipping the orders over $50.
These men and their hypnotized followers call this a new order. It is not new. It is not order.
I'm soooo glad I stocked up on Unique before the craziness started, I'm good for quite a while.

I will find different powders. I think at this point you are paying for the name. Think Harley Davidson or Porsche or Mercedes. Buy parts for any of those cars and you will understand what I am talking about.
I guess I need to start shooting some BP substitute in my stainless .45s. I've got a 12 lb. case of Pyrodex cartridge grade that should do OK in .45 Colt and probably a .44 Henry RF level in .44 mag. The smoke would make it fun to do. Would sure startle a few folks on a public range. GF
I just got a notification from Midway that Reloader 19 was now in stock. I've been looking for it for a couple of years now. I went to the Midway site which shows it is now out of stock, again. Just as well. At $59.99 a pound I wouldn't be buying any. (Plus shipping)

I guess we have reached the point where "Pay to Play "has become the norm, I don't look for powder the become much cheaper any time soon if ever.
I started out with nothing and I still have most of it left.

It's a shame! I've heard so much about people using Alliant Unique for their reloading needs, but I've never seen it in stores, and every single time I get a notification that it's returned to in-stock, I'm too late to get any! I'm fine with sticking with other powders that manage to stay more in-stock.
Anything made by Alliant has been unseen by myself for years now.
out of stock already
...even at that price

I figured up my new cost for loading 28g shot shells the other day. Somewhere around $7 a box with the new price of components, that still beats the devil out of $20 plus retail a box. I remember when I had around $2.50/ box, but I've got boxes with $6.00/ box stickers on them as well! I've told people for years that your only saving the cost of the hull and cardboard box when you reload, and from what I'm figuring, the spread between new vs reloaded ammo is even greater than in the past.
The local candy store got some in a couple weeks ago. $49.99 a pound. I bought two to go with what I have. Should last me a couple years loading 12 gauge shells.

out of stock still at that price, 10 grains per shot is about $0.07 per shot.
I bought a pound at a LGS of Unique last week for $45. Accurate brand powders are running $35 a pound. I'm using more of the Accurate
