Remington 7mm Express Included In A Recall

I just picked up a box of this ammo. I checked online and this lot number is included in a recall of this ammo back in the early 1980s. I remember having some of this ammo and shot it in my pride and joy, Remington 700 BDL that I had just bought. Unfortunately, before I got word of the recall, I fired a round of the over loaded ammo and it locked up the bolt to the point that the action would not open. I sent the rifle back to Remington and they got her going again. I exchanged the few boxes of bad ammo for new ones and was good to go. Just curious as to the recently purchased box. Does the recall issue coupled with the fact that it is a fairly rare headstamp have any extra value? If not, I think I will pull the bullets and replace the powder with a known charge so I don't have a repeat of the debacle.

That’s a sensible approach. They will also be more accurate with a new safe load.
