    LED Light ?

I was thinking of adding a LED strip to my Dillon 550
Instead of having a light setting next to the press
As I want to be able to see any problems and fix them

I did a quick search and saw a Kit on Amazon for $25.99
I am sure I could make it cheaper
But it looks simple and premade
So in the long run maybe easier to buy something

Anyone use one of these on your press ?
Or is there a better light kit out there ?

    Thanks
    John

I put a LED light on my 550 and it makes a real difference. I don't remember which light I used but I don't think you can go wrong with any of them. I used to have to stop, grab a small flashlight and shine in the cases to see if everything looked OK. Now I just lean in and eyeball the cases.

It's been a few years since they came out...the flexible strip of LED's but that was my only choice then and it's been great to use. Came with a transformer plug and works off wall plug power.

I can see that powder level before I place the slug on the case.

Since this type light there's been another type light that'll mount in the hole in the center of the press and lotz of other strip configuration types.
The way I see it, "the more light the better."

I have a 4' LED light on the celling above the 550, it really lights up the room and all sides of the 550, so I don't need any more clutter.

I have the KMS^2 lights on every presses I own that he makes lights for. I like building things myself too but have no problem recommending the product(s).

I added a freebie Harbor Freight LED light to my Spartan press. It works great.

These low profile LED strip lights are very nice to have in your press. I'm a fan.
These men and their hypnotized followers call this a new order. It is not new. It is not order.

All kinds of sewing machine led strips on several of the mega mail order sites. The one I got powers off a wall outlet, has a dimmer, and can be cut to length. Came with tacky strip to adhere anywhere.

All Electronics Corp in the Peoples Republic of California has a wholesale supply of all the LED lights, vibrators, switches, etc. of all the stuff to light up your reloading press! My MEC shotgun reloading presses sometimes do not feed primers in the trays. A tiny little vibrator that is common to cell phones works great epoxied to the primer tray bottom powered by a small DC transformer keeps the primers moving.

I just picked up a new 550C and needed a light. Purchased the KMS UFO, super bright and out of the way. Doesn't interfere with the tool head

KMS UFO is what I have. It’s bright, has a rocker switch on the cable and the cable is two piece in case it gets tugged on.

I found led lights at Walmart. They were 2 for 10 or 12 dollars. They came with a magnifying lens. I removed the lens and glued it to the bottom of a
cracked .308 cartrige. I gound an old 12 volt transformer and wired it to the light and it fits in the little hole in the toolhead. But I'm a bit of a tightwad.

    Nothing wrong with that.

Except for the kid who used that line the first time I heard it.

I put a Hornady LED light strip on my RockChucker years ago when they first offered them for sale.
Inexpensive and really helps illuminate the press opening.
