    WTB Winchester model 12 buttstock

Looking for a Winchester Model 12 Buttstock for a 20 ga shotgun. I believe a buttstock off a 16 ga will also work. Nothing fancy and no checkering on the wrist.

If pirates falls through, you may want to check out Boyd's gunstocks. Got one from them a few years ago and it was a spot on match for my basket case 20ga Model 12.Click image for larger version.

I did checkout Boyd's, they are nice but out of my price range. I'm looking for something I can refinish, thanks.

    Hi sparky45,
I did find the stock. Memory says it is a Win Model 12 stock. I picked it up years ago to put on one of my Model 12s but never got around to it. Only got as far as refinishing it. I stripped, not sanded, the stock and steamed-out the light scratches that it had. There was a place on the right side that seems to have some "bad" wood in it. I filled it with the area and sanded it done. About 10-12 coats of boiled linseed oil was applied and each one hand rubbed in. There is not a butt plate.

This may be of some interest. Measuring from the bottom left of the stock to the right top, length of heel, the measurement is 11.75". Length of Pull is 11 15/16". Length to Toe is 12 5/8". Remember, no butt plate attached. I think these measurements are usually taken from the trigger to the edge of the stock. Don't think I can estimate where the trigger will be accurately.

Stock is not checked and it is basically straight grained. If you will PM me your email address, I will send pictures and we can discuss.

    Sounds good; now it's for a 20 ga. Model 12, right? A 12 ga Model 12 stock won't work. However a 16; or 28ga will work.
