    New Chrono suggestions

I’ve given up trying to get my Caldwell to work consistently, so I’m ready to move on.

I don’t need a bunch of features, just reliability and ability to record to a PC or IPhone.

Because a lot of my shooting was done at an indoor range the only one that fit for me was a Labrador. I have more outdoor options now and am glad I went with it. The only gripe I have is LabRadar changed their app which I absolutely do not like but don’t have much choice.

I have Pact, an early ProChrono and Labradar as well as access to another Pact and a QED M2.
The PACTs and QED are patchy at best.
The Prochrono was very reliable until it was shot and you will shoot it eventually. ProChrono now make a Bluetooth version.
The Labradar has worked reliably in all conditions.

Using optical chronographs, on overcast days, I think if I have anything that needs to be tested. You don’t have normal lighting issues and you don’t have to mess with the sky screens.

If you have an iPhone you can take a video of the results.

If you don’t have the ability to shoot on overcast days or position the chronograph correctly to avoid the sun messing with the sky screens due to range layout, a Magnetospeed or Labradar might be better choices.
