After a year, I finally got a replica of a French Dragon from Pedersoli. I’ve had an original for a few years now, but being two hundred years old, it has some issues. I hope with the new gun I can determine if the problems lie with me or the gun. I am also hoping some of the parts are interchangeable and I can order them to replace worn parts on the original gun.
Anyway, I have never fired a brand new smooth bore. Is there anything I should know about breaking it in?

The solid soft lead bullet is undoubtably the best and most satisfactory expanding bullet that has ever been designed. It invariably mushrooms perfectly, and never breaks up. With the metal base that is essential for velocities of 2000 f.s. and upwards to protect the naked base, these metal-based soft lead bullets are splendid.
