Lee to release #1 Buckshot mold

I contacted Lee Precision to ask if they had plans to release an 18-cavity mold for #1 buckshot. Got a reply from them today that yes they are, should become available in 6 weeks, product #92068.

    That would be cool. I think I've got a .319", and I've got a 2 buck mold from Sharpshooter. I don't think I have a .300" buckshot mold.

They already have a 18 cav #4 buck mold. That works great in both 12 and 20 I think. YMMV

These men and their hypnotized followers call this a new order. It is not new. It is not order.

I have a slingshot ammo mold that is pretty close to #3 for 20 ga. About halfway between #3 and #4.

I have not patterned it yet, last couple summers have been hot and hectic.
I truly believe we need to get back to basics.

    Get right with the Lord.
    Get back to the land.
Get back to thinking like our forefathers thought.

I think that you can get at least 10 number 1 buck in a standard 20 ga shell. Should be a good load.

    WTH!!!!”

I load 9, seldom 12, I’m recoil sensitive, in a 12 ga. How in the Sam Hill does one fit 10 in a 20 ga hull?

It shouldn't be that hard. 10 pellets of 1 buck is pretty much a standard 7/8oz load.

Do the math for stacking .29-.30" diameter lead balls in a 20 ga shell.

There's a lot of good to be had using the Lee .310 6 cavity mold. And you don't have to clip anything

    I didn’t know they had a 6-cav .31” mold!
I’ll have to check it out!
    I’ve been using a .31” 2-cav for about 30yrs!

    It loads GREAT 20ga loads!
I use a 1oz wad, 17gr of LongShot, cheap hulls (win or fed)
I’ve killed deer and pigs with them from my CZ/Turkish made S/S.

What kind of patterns were you going for with your "Slingshot." I figure it should do about 6" at 10 yards which would be a good load for the house as you wouldn't have to worry about over penetration or shooting thru walls or stuff like that.

I use 3/8" and 1/2" Ball Bearings in mine.

TOTW exclusive. I’ll wait and see if Lee does make a .31” gang mold.
$61.95 is a tad steep. No more than I cast/load…

On the Lee site, they list a 6 cavity .490 round ball mold for $65.00.

Not sure I’d a smaller ball will change the price.
