    357/38 Rimless query

    I am building a 375/38 rimless, anybody got information on this cartridge.

    I essence its a 223 case cut down to 357 length; re sized...

    Any information would be helpful.

    My experience is that the .223 case does not make a good basis for .357 caliber cartridges, it is just not large enough in diameter even if you ream the necks. That is why the 350 legend has a unique case. You can do it, you have to blow out the case so it is more like the 350 legend.

    The 9x23 Win was supposed to mimic the 357 Magnum in a 1911:

    Also, for custom apps, for something a little longer, you could use 9mm win mag.

    I had a 45 Win. Mag. and had entirely forgotten that it also came in a 9mm flavor.
