    Picatinny Mount

I have a T C Contender, has the usual Weaver 92 scope base on it. I've bought a Riton red dot that has an integral Picatinny mount on it. I want using a file to make it work to be the last resort. I can't seem to find an adapter to go from Weaver to Picatinny or a know of a base I can use. TIA for any advice.

“You should tell someone what you know. There should be a history, so that men can learn from it.

He smiled. “Men do not learn from history. Each generation believes itself brighter than the last, each believes it can survive the mistakes of the older ones. Each discovers each old thing and they throw up their hands and say ‘See! Look what I have found! Look upon what I know!’ And each believes it is something new.

Correct me if I am wrong ( It's happened before) The only difference between Weaver and Pic rail is the cross bolts are larger diameter.......GW

Weaver mounting rails have slots that are .180" wide and do not necessarily have a consistent spacing between the grooves. Picatinny slots are .206" wide with a center-to-center groove width of .394". Picatinny accessories will not fit on a Weaver rail, but Weaver accessories will fit on a Picatinny rail.
