Lyman lube die collar wrench?

I bought a Lyman 450 back in the 80s and later sold it, but it came with a nifty wrench for the collar that thread into the frame.

Do they still make these? I couldn’t find it on their web site.

If not, does anyone make one that fits the RCBS lubamatic?

I’m tired of using channel locks to change dies.

I have one of Keith’s nut drivers for Lyman presses. They aren’t cheap, but Cadillacs cost more than Fiats. He can be found here.

For the time it saves and avoids cross threading those extremely fine threads, it is well worth to go with Keith's wrench. I've got one for Lyman and RCBS.

Another vote for Keith's tool, while you are at it, he has great flat nose (for wadcutter or SWC---flat nose) and cupped (fill with epoxy or hot glue to make custom) top-punches available

"start conversation" might seem clunky at first glance, but it is simpler and less complicated than PM.

Keeping the nut square so it doesn't cross thread is just a matter of laying a nickel on it and squaring it up with gentle pressure from the ram. A penny works, too

I'm lucky enough to still have my original wrench for my Lyman machine.

This is what I do to line up the nut. I insert the die and nut, then put my wrench on it, and bring the ram down without a nose punch in it. The ram is larger then the hole in the nut and I don't need a coin or anything. What's nice about the ram being down you can really reposition the wrench and turn it faster as it won't jump all the ways off.

If you don't have a wrench you can use a 7/8ths box end wrench and you can grind it down to make it thinner in both thickness and diameter. We're not torque down automotive nuts here so it will be sturdy enough after grinding. One can buy one of the elcheapo 7/8th wrench if you don't have one.

I still have my Fiat on a nail behind the press. Sure is nice driving that Cadillac though.
