    Sea Pearl Dive Weights?

    Hello All,
I stopped at my favorite lead pusher today and he had a bucket set back for me. The dive weights were marked sea pearls. I looked them up and their high quality and infused with antimony/tin. Has anyone had them tested before? Thanks. Boats

A hardness test might give you an idea if the alloy is useful to you.

I was surprised to learn from the Safety Data Sheet linked to that site that liquified lead can cause thermal burns and that if you slop some lead onto your skin, you're supposed to leave it there and not pull it off. Just wash it with soap and water. That would take a steadier hand than mine.

My vest has a pocket in the back so mine are solid. Wife's dad gave me some of those he had and I melted them down and cast as is. They work fine for revolver 38sp and 32HR Mag. Cast some in 40cal but have not tried them yet. I did powder coat all of them, though. Did not try with lube.

I used some from different manuf., they worked fine in 40sw, haven't cast any for rifle yet. Melt in an open environment as you don't know what 'stuff' they might have on them, salt water, etc. Probably <2% Sb and even less Sn.
    Whatever!
