Air Fryer Recipes: post your favorites here

Today, I hesitantly joined the Air Fryer crowd. I hear the Menchi Katsu is great.
What is your favorite food to cook in a Air Fryer? ...Recipes.
    Any hints, tips, tricks?

I know about hot air, but why does air need to be fried?

This is going to sound sacrilegious but it makes a pretty decent steak when you don’t want to fool with the grill or cast iron. Crank it up all the way and sear your favorite cut *ribeye. Leaves a nice crust on the outside.

    In the air fryer?

But, of course, powder coat bullets!

Pork tenderloins came out pretty good when I made them...... dip in blended eggs & milk and toss in bread crumbs, seasoned flour, or panko. I find I need to swap /rotate tray locations while cooking as the upper trays cook quicker. Also made some chicken breast jerky in mine that turned out pretty good.

I use my Instant pots much more often than the air fryer.

I'll have to try a steak in mine. I've used mine for my hand cut whole pork loin boneless chops with and without a breading. I make stuffed green peppers the only modification to an oven recipe is slicing peppers length wise. Jalapeño poppers also cut length wise. Bratwurst or Italian sausage brown up great. I've found cooking time is greatly reduced. Especially when I factor in pre heating oven or pellet grill. Mine is an Instant vortex.

We use ours for all of the above mentioned except the powder coating. My favorite is pork chops seasoned to your liking. I believe you will enjoy it.

I have a Ninja Foodi and I use it for just about everything. It’s rare that I use the stove these days. I love the fact that I can do everything in one vessel. You can pressure cook, air fry, dehydrate and sauté all in the same pot. The stackable racks allow for one pot meals. Line the bottom with potatoes, put a rack in and place a meat loaf in a foil boat or pan on the tray and spread some green beans around it. Pressure cook for 10 minutes, release the pressure, swap lids and finish with the air fryer lid set on bake. Can’t beat an entire meal using 1 pot under an hour.

We have a Ninja Foodi and my wife uses it to heat frozen quick foods. It is great for shrimp with a tempura batter. I use the pressure cooker for tough roasts and meat I want to cook quicker. I use the slow cooker portion as well. I can pressure cook a chuck roast, cube it up and convert to a stew that tastes as if it cooked all day in a slow cooker.

Love the Ninja! Its great being able to pressure cook to soften and then bake/sear to add some texture all in the same vessel. I've even made jerky with the dehydrator feature. Works amazing for steaming rice and veggies too.

We really only use ours for french fries when I make steak. Just to small for us as you end up breaking things down to fit and making multiple batches.

Received an instant pot for Christmas a few years ago. Used it twice. Put it back in the box and stored it away in the basement. Crock pot does the same thing with a whole lot less hassle.

We just got a new kitchen range with an air frier setting. It's part of the convection oven. Never had either before. If you experienced folks could give me some idea of how long to cook some things I would appreciate it. This one seems to top out the air frier at 390 degrees.

I feel like the term fryer is a misnomer. Its a convection oven on steroids. You can faux-fry with it but don't expect the same results. Like I panko batter fish and air fry them and they arent bad and much healthier, dont get me wrong though, I'm never air frying a catfish. Think of it as a faster version of your oven, its just force fanning hot air. You'll have to use yours to determine cooking times, it really depends on how much volume you stuff into it and how much air flow you're getting. I open it every 5 to 10 minutes and check and rotate the items to make sure they cook evenly. I have been brave enough to air fry a small standing rib roast and was not mad at all with the end result.
