    Mold for a 7.35 Carcano

I know Lyman used to make a mold for the 7.35 Carcano, can anyone provide me with the mold number. Also, does anyone have one to sale or trade for, it would be a gift for a friend? I have a very large selection of bullets, some molds/casting dies and some brass to trade for.

    Thanks!

You might be better to have one of the custom mould guys make it for you. I’ve found that happening up on these limited production moulds to be frustratingly hit or miss, not to mention expensive. Then again, an ad on Swapping and Selling might bring a pleasant surprise.

I have that mold in a 2 cavity and it never worked worth a damn. It's .300 diameter and takes a 7mm gas check
which makes no sense at all. I got it to work by using the 7mm check, then a 30 cal check over the 7mm check.
Had to use 2 different checks to make it work. Like Green Frog said, might be better to go custom.

Try eBay or Amazon. Or go to accurate molds go around 7mm in catalog. Find your weight and style. Customize diameter when ordering. $93 for a one cavity.

If you take this down to the “Moulds, Maintenance and Design” section you may get more responses and better info.

I used the 155gn Lee bullet, gas checked to .300 in my 7.35 Carcano with good results.

I believe you can ask the moderators to do so, otherwise just copy and paste the initial post and paste it into a new thread there.

POINT OF CURIOSITY: Wasn't 7.35 Italian round fired through a barrel with a gain twist? I always wondered how one picks a bullet the length of which is appropriate to (will stabilize in) such rifling.

No, those were the old model 91 long rifles.
