    T/C contender 410/45 colt.

So I am lucky that I have an NFA H&R 410 handgun. With its 12” choked barrel, it shoots a nice pattern out to 25 yards and that’s with the 2 1/2” shells. It pattered better than the Pederosi Howdaw double barrel. Just wondering how effective the T/C is with its anti twist adapter on the end for 410 use? And will it accept 3” shells? Thanks.

    Yes, they are three inch.
It's been 30+ years since I patterned mine, so I don't recall the shot spread, but it's been very effective on upland game over the years.

10" Contender with the Douche Nozzle Octagon... Using converted 303 brass shells at only 2-1/4, # 7-1/2's in a shortened 410 wad... I get pretty darn tight patterns out beyond 30 Yards...Havent even tried farther... Should..

My T/C Was a 10" with adjustable sights. Don't remember if 3"? Shot skeet singles with it, using skeet loads. Worked well if i did my part.

Factory 45 colt ammo , not accurate for me.

I worked hard to get 45 Colt to shoot.. and it does pretty darn good If I work at it.. Mostly Larger diameter Boolits, and heavy weight. 252gr SWC... Not good on the "handle end"... but shoots decent..

My Contender barrel with the external screw on choke patterned great . Without the choke the 45 colt shot ok but not nearly as good as the 45Colt only barrel! Tim

Again... Why Give up??? Taylored loads will come very Close (prolly wont best) 45 LC only barrel results,,, but yer 45 LC bbl won't shoot 410 worth a hoot...and, in My World... that 410 loading generates Miles of Smiles

Back in the 90’s a guy at my trap club shot a round with the 410 Contender. He did break a few.
