All,
I am going to load some #305's for my Ross Mk.III with 2400. My question is, how many lube grooves should be filled given the fact that the barrel is 30" long?
Cheers,
Steve

I've only filled 3 grooves on a 311466 Lovern that I shoot out of my Ross Mk X with a 30" barrel. I load them over 17 gr 2400 and they run at 1975 fps out of that barrel..

What do you size them to?
Just like to compared to my MK III
The Mk X has a .311 groove diameter The 2 cavity 311466 Lyman mould I have drops COWW + 2% bullets at .313+. I size, lube and GC them in a .312 H&I die. I used Hornady GCs and Javelina lube. I would use 2500+ these days.
