    What is these for????

So got these at the last gunshow.
Thought it was for the RCBS I have, but when I looked today, they are different.
    These are much bigger.
One is stamped 10, the other 90.
    Any ideas????

Pretty sure they are for the HORNADY progressive presses, but I don't know which one. I believe there is a slight difference from the PRO-7 to the current L-N-L version, not much but some subtle differences. I would suspect those come from an earlier version. My only problem is I have never heard of a #90 shell holder. HORNADY numbers the shell plates the same as their snap in shell holders and I can't find a #90. The #10 is for the 40 S&W family of cartridges.

It's weird. The look like Belleville springs for...well, to be used in another application...

How do you come up with all this weird **** out there?

Those don't quite look like Hornady's.
The top looks the same, but the bottom has too many indent holes.

90 is not a good number for a Hornady plate either.

Hornady Pro-Jector, that "90" is actually #"06" shell plate.
That won't fit the Newer L-N-L Press unless you send them back to Hornady, where they'll machine a groove in the bottom of the plate for the ejector. At $10 each. Return shipping included.

    .
I thought that too. Just to double check, I went out and looked at my Hornady plates.
The #6 plate just has '6' stamped on it, and not nearly that many indexing holes on the bottom.

If a .38Spec. or .357 shell case fits--- then it could be, but there is way too many indent holes on the bottom.
    Hornady's #10 plate is for .40S&W or .357Sig.

if a 40s&w shell fits in the one with the 10 on it its a hornady projector shell plate if the one with the 06 or 90 fits 38spl/357mag then its a #6 projector shell plate

It's a hornady plate, one of the older pro 7's with the ballbearing detent. There are 10 detent holes as each handle pull is set to half an index station up and half and index station down since it primes between stations. They eventually went with one then two fixed detents on the shell plate and the 10 indents on the subplate to get the 10 index spots. https://castboolits.gunloads.com/sho...dy-Pro-7-Parts

    That is them.
    Hornady, Pro 7, old model.
    #10 is 40 S&W, #06 is .38spl.
I'm always amazed the knowledge of our members here.
Anyone have an old Hornady Pro 7????
    Thank you

the other in 308. There's probably about 10 total between the Pro / Projectors

And you'll get a piece of crap back that looks like it was machined in a wood chipper. I sent 4 plates in when I switched to an LnL and got unusable trash back.

I was given an old Hornady Pro-7 with a 44 Mag shell plate. The press works great! Wanted to load 44-40 and 38-40 WCF but the factory said they did not have any spare parts for the Pro-7. Ordered a 44-40 WCF shell plate for the Hornady Lock & Load from Midway USA. Set it up in my Bridgeport and rotary table and machined the ball detents into the LNL plate. Installed it into my old Hornady Pro-7. Works perfect!!! Thinking about another caliber now.
