    And again.......

Started casting last week, thought why not powder coat the bullets. Looks easy enough, called Smoke got some powder on Saturday so recast the bullets for the AK test. First attempt only yielded about 10 decent bullets, so remelted and recast. This was second attempt and why not go for gold, this was recovered range scrap. Pot was at 760f so kept remelting bullets and raising molt temp. Presto, 98% success rate. Since I had the powder coat. After dinner powder coated my bullets in my new to me $8 oven.

Then it happen again. What else could I powder coat. Just finished making a handle for my new to me used Hornady Pro-jector press. Let's give it a try. Didn't go as well as the bullets, but gave me ideas. Dam this is all so much fun and addicting.

Now I'm thinking I need a sprayer for this to get other parts done. Like the handle. I just heated it and dusted it with a spoon. Coating looks similar to the press. So not too bad. Ooh, I have some brackets for my truck, wonder if they will fit in the oven. Maybe a lower reciever

Ya might need a bigger oven.

Somewhere in Man Law, it is written:
Any worthwhile project is the perfect reason why you need to buy more power tools.

When you get one--- Man Law rule #1 applies,,,,, and clearly states:
Disconnect, or otherwise bypass all safety devices, and throw away the instructions.

That temp is pretty high for a melt. I suppose with pure lead that might be needed, but if you have any alloy with a little Tin in it you shouldn't have to bring it that high. How fast were you casting?
