    Winchester Mod. 20 parts?

Just made a trade for a Winchester Mod. 20 that's missing the fore end. Anyone have an idea where one might be found?
I could make one if there's a schematic or drawing I could find, even a few good photos of one from some ones mod 20.

It has external pitting but is solid and functioning. May end up being a project gun.

    .

The FE wood is sometimes available (google), but IME the forend iron isn't - but it's gonna cost more than the gun is worth (like $150 +/-)

That's why its more of a project gun to me... I can hack some iron and wood if need be to fit. A few good photos of the fore end wouldn't hurt to facilitate the end goal.

I looked at my 20 ga Model 37's foreend. It won't work on your Model 20. The wood totally encloses the front of the action and the iron is hidden.

What may work is a foreend iron from some other single shot with the end of the iron visible to match the curve on the front of the action. There were quite a few single shots made with a snap off foreend, IIRC H&R, Iver Johnson and Stevens all made that style.

    .

    To whom it may concern:

Fear not if some part(s) are not listed on a parts supplier's website - they may still have the needed part(s), but removed the particular part(s) from the website because their remaining inventory is too low to list (they don't want a disappointed customer).

IME, telephoning or emailing them may result in getting the needed part(s).

Here’s an old Stevens for extrapolating visions of making it work.
That old gun will hunt when you get it going.
    Don’t forget the recoil pad!
