    Canadian powder coaters

Where are you getting your powder from? Anywhere within Canada? I did an internet search and cannot find anything domestic.

Eastwood powder is what I use and get it from KMS Tools in Calgary but there are many others who sell it. Unless you are in the middle of nowhere any automotive or industrial paint supplier should have it.

KMS tools. We have one here in Victoria. I will check with them. Thanks!

I find Eastwood Ford Blue and Signal Red the best. Some of the others I have not so good but if I mix some of the red or blue with them they work really well and have some interesting colours as a result.

Thanks Carrier. Powder colours was my next question. You do the shake and bake method with Ford Blue and Signal Red?

I copied this directly from a previous reply I sent just below:

Blacksmithden I dug out my invoice from Emerald Coatings in Ontario but it’s from 2017. It’s emerald Tool Blue SKU:PC1196 back then I bought two lbs for $9.46 each plus $13.99 to ship plus GST.

    Hope that helps.

Yes I do. I have several other Eastwood colours that didn’t work as well. Yellow and orange came out splotchy and I do not powder coat twice. So I mixed them with either red, blue or black or a combination of all and came up with some interesting colours. But bullets were 100% covered with only one coat.

Princess auto powder (red) is thin coating stuff, 2 coats needed for me. Not a big fan. I also mix it with some other colors I got from Emerald. I picked up a scarlet which is also a thin coat, and a dark metallic green which is excellent and thicker, and the Emerald tool blue, awesome stuff. I mix the thinner finish powders in varying ratios with the tool blue to stretch out the blue and utilize the stuff that isn't good on its own. Blue with P.A. red speckles and dots look good. Shake and bake, or shake, sprinkle for effect, and bake.

Emerald coatings and Caswell are connected in Canada. Tool blue works great. There are lots of powder coaters on the bullet making forum on C.G.N.
