50 BMG and over bore cartridges. I bought some yrs ago to try in a 257 Mag and 300 Wby. It was on clearance for $5 / lb that was when powder was $20 / lb. I ended up using it with cast loads in my 350 Rem Mag full case under 250 gr cast was under well 2,000 fps decent accuracy but lots of unburned powder.

My results were similar with cast in .375 H&H. Fortunately, I only bought one pound.

I bought an 8lb jug of 5010 from GI Brass many years ago and still have about a pound of it remaining. Every once in a while, I look at it and wonder if I should load it up and shoot it in something just to get rid of it. It is hard to meter so as I recall, most of the time I used Lee dippers when charging cases and occasionally I weighed each charge. From my notes:

    6.5X55
    IMR 5010 50.5 Hndy 140, Rem 7 1/2 pimer, Win cases
(1.5" 5 shot group in my M96 Swedish Mauser. distance not noted but I suspect it is a 50 yard group.
IMR 5010 51.0gr. Sierra 140 BT Win LR primer unk cases
1.25" 5 shot group w/Tasco 4X scope in my M38 this chronographed at 2460fps shot at 100 yards
    IMR5010 51.0gr chronographed at 2312fps in my Husqvarna M38 1.75" @ 100 yds (3 in .5"!)
    and then with cast:
    Oldfeller 170 gr. cast with air cooled wheel weights: 5010 41.4gr. 5 1/4" (4 in 2 1/4") in my M96

    30-06
Lyman 309284 sized .311 57.0 gr 5010 chronographed at 2080 with "excellent accuracy" This was shot from my Win M70.

    30-40 Krag
Lee boolit weighing 200 grains 5010 powder with weighed charge of 40.0gr chronographed 1280fps with a sd of 64.81 2,25" at 50yds.
    RCBS 30-180-FN 5010 44.4 (3.4CC dipper) CCI mag primers EXCELLENT accuracy 50 yds 1"group
RCBS 30-180-FN 5010 49.5 (3.7CC dipper) CCI mag primers not as accurate
    Lyman 311284 5010 44.4 (3.4cc dipper) (so-so accuracy @ 50 yds)

    7.62X54R M39 Finn
    Lyman 311 291 Surp.5010 50.0 gr. VERY accurate load <1" @ 50 yds.
I used to shoot this load at our club's military rifle shoot held monthly during the winter. The amount of unburned powder on the snow
after firing 50 rounds was amazing.
    311 284 Surp.5010 49.0 gr. VERY accurate load

    30-30 Marlin
RCBS 30-180-FN 5010 full case compressed. terrible load

There are other calibers I've tried this in but I can't find any documentation. For instance, I recall trying it in my Marlin 45-70 with 500 grain boolits but don't remember how it performed. The stuff was very dirty in everything so not practical for me. Still experimentation is loads of fun.

I use it in large cases over a booster charge of Unique or other flake shotgun powder. I have used from 5 to 9grs of booster and the rest of the case full of 5010 depending on the case size caliber and boolet weight. Start low with 3grs of booster and increase until burn cleans up.

One of my memories is someone comparing this powder to Lincoln Logs. Difficult to measure may be an understatement.
