    WTB .38-55 Brass

I know I am probably looking for a Pink Elephant, maybe a paisley one but I picked up a Browning Classic Hunter 1885 in .38-55 WCF. Would like to get 100 pieces of brass for it. Anyone have some they need to get off the shelf?
    Thanx

Buster, just fire- form some 30-30 cases and use them They will be slightly shorter but your rifle will not know the difference.

And I've got a bunch that are already fire formed that could be had for not much more than the freight bill.

Looks like a hundredish pieces of 30/30/38/55 brass. It's going to take a little while, half or better are loaded. I'll have to pull the boolits and recycle the powder. H4895 is what my label says. Sounds like some more M1 Garand loads are in the future.

And a free ride to the top.

Dug a little further and found more stuff that will look better on your shelf than mine:

50 Starline, 35 fired, 15 bullet pulled, still primed

    50 R-P 30-30, 35 fired, 15 bullet pulled, still primed 2-3 times loaded

    46 R-P 30-30, 2nd load, bullet pulled, still primed

20 Starline, 1st load, 8 fired, 12 bullet pulled still primed.

88 primed if my arithmetic is right.

166 total, these were all loaded in the 2008-2010 time frame. The fired cases I’d anneal before loading because of the age. You’ve got a chance of neck splits from age hardening. The primed, I’d load a couple and fire them before loading them all up to see if any split.
Or push out the primers(gently!) with a universal de-primer and then anneal. Use the primers for plinking loads.

And back on top. What a deal.
