A whopping $3.36 a box!!! Nowdays most ammo here starts at $35 a box for green and yellow remmington.
Post WW2, 1950s. If they have a child warning square on the front, post 1962.
you got to love the old boxes...especially when you note the price $$$
I have had many like that in 257 Roberts and the ammo always worked.
If nothing else save the boxes!!
I just gave to a friend 3 boxes of ALCAN 12 ga x 3" #2 shot which were marked $2.98 per box! I don't have a 12 ga with a 3" chamber but I pulled a couple of the rounds apart to check if the primers and powder still functioned.....they did!

Death to every foe and traitor and hurrah, my boys, for freedom !
Properly stored ammunition is good for many years. I think the oldest I have shot in a while was 8mm Austrian Werndel
(I think) that was dated 1872. It all fired, although some did hang fire. There's still lots of primers and powder from WW2 being used, a friend of mine got 100 pounds of 4831 from the DCM in 1948, there's still 15 pounds left, and it's still good.
My first reaction to the price tags on old ammo boxes is "wow! That's cheap!" But then I remember it was probably expensive for it's time. I can hear the comment at the hardware store now...
"Got and 257 Roberts?"
"Yep, 3 bucks"
"Jeez, you trying to retire early?"
"That's what they go for these days"
"Give them here, got a deer that needs to go in my freezer"
