Question Lee-Enfield No. 4 Mk 1 complete bolt assembly

I'm looking for a reasonably priced complete bolt assembly. Technically No 4 Mk I or II will work.

It's been a number of years since I shopped for any Enfield parts and I was a little surprised that they weren't as ubiquitous or cheap as they were back in the heyday of surplus, but I suppose this is understandable. So far any online sources I've checked either only sell individual bolt components or are out of stock.

The rifle in need is a sporterized No 4 Mk 1 Lee Enfield that was separated from it's bolt somewhere along the way. It's a perfectly good rifle otherwise. I believe it to be a "someone took the bolt out of the rifle to hide it from the kids" scenario and the bolt never made it back into the rifle.

I realize Lee Enfield's had numbered bolt heads to get the proper headspace. I just need to start somewhere and know I may need to swap bolt heads after measuring headspace.

I'm hoping a member here has an extra bolt assembly around they'd be willing to sell or trade.

Try BRP guns online. They may have the parts that you need.

I bought a project No 4 last year and found out parts are not in everybody's junk boxes anymore. Found one at Liberty Tree Collectors, it hurt for a bit, but sometimes you just have to bite the bullet.

You may have to assemble one from parts...

Thanks for the tips guys. Liberty Tree Collectors was the only place that had a complete bolt assembly in stock. I bit the bullet and ordered one for $125. Oh well. I think back to the days when my dad was buying Enfields for $79 wholesale back in the hey day. I still think of Enfields as being a $100 rifle, but I guess time and inflation have a way of changing what everyone else thinks they are worth.
Once I get it, then I'll see how lucky I was on the headspace lottery and whether I need a different bolt head.

Good luck with the headspace. If you need a No.3 size they're as rare as the passenger pigeon.

    Moved to CD.
