    Lube denting Recoverable/usable?

Wasn't sure where to put this, seemed like the most likely forum.

So, I'm going through old brass in a "discard/scrap" box I've had for years. Please see photo. This brass was likely from when I was just starting re-loading and I suspect it's overlubed. I think at the time I was lubing cases by rolling them on a pad with RCBS lube. At some point I switched to Imperial Sizing Die Wax used very sparingly, and have never had the problem since.

However, that's a lot of brass in the box. Are these usable as is, if resized? Or if the dimpling remains, should they be discarded as potentially compromised/weak brass?

Load them and shoot them. They’ll be fine.
I haven’t had a lube dent since One Shot came out.
Early in my reloading days I had lots of them on my 22-250 brass as I learned how much NOT to use- but they ironed right out when fired.

OK great, thanks. And I'll get some One Shot to try out.

Load and shoot them, there is nothing wrong with those minimal dents.

Those lube dent will be gone the next time you load and fire them, no danger there...

    No big deal.
If a lube dent doesn't have sort of a crease (which often splits), it'll iron right out.

So, you're good. Now go forth and sin no more.

Its amazing how big a dent you can take out by shooting (I've done some careful experimenting-- just out of curiosity). Take a case dropped at the range and run over by a vehicle. Open the neck enough to run it through the decapping and sizing dies. Load a not too hot load and bingo-- like it never had a dent. Not saying I would do that all the time, but its fun to try.

Think about fireforming 7mm Rem Mag to 458 Win Mag:

I'm about 99.8% sure those dents will flatten out without much trouble.

But this is free advice on the innerweb.

Having reloaded cases from an HK 93 clone with much worse dents, these are unlikely to present any issues. Do a minimal powder charge and then reload if the case look good to go!

I have fixed some pretty messed up cases just to see if I can. Unless the case is creased, it will usually iron out. Those small dings you have are not worth mentioning.

When I started reloading 30-06 with the ink pad coated in what felt like STP Oil Treatment ... super thick and super greasy ... my good cases had dents that small ... maybe
10 out of 50 were completely undented .
Those are very small dents ... you would be surprised how big a dent will iron out on firing .
As long as a case doesn't have a crease or fold in it ... the firing will blow it out .
Creases will sometimes weaken the brass ... so look at them carefully .
But little dents ... not a problem !

Stop at your local drug store and ask for liquid lanolin, if not available you can also get Anhydrous lanolin. Pick up a 12 oz spray bottle while there. Stop at your local auto parts place and get a bottle of the red Heet. When you get home put about 2 oz oz of the lanolin in the spray bottle and add the Heet. A light spray of this on your brass will be all you need and a little experience will tell you where the sweet spot is for lubing. Your first batch will cost less than a can of commercial spray lube and last MANY times longer.

Red Heet = alcohol = lacquer thinner.
