It's not just handgun chamberings. It has not been long ago that a 336 in 30-30 or 35 Rem was a $250-$350 gun and they didn't sell very well at those prices. Now they sell in the $650-$700 range and everybody wants one. If it is a '94 in 44 mag or 357, you better be packing a grand with you or be ready to go home empty handed and you can't bargain with the owners at that. If what I read is true, a LOT of us cast boolit shooters are frothing for a 1-2" 44, which is what is rumored from the new Ruglins, me included.
IT AINT what ya shoot--its how ya shoot it. NONE of us are as smart as ALL of us!
After the quality I've seen from the companies that have produced the 1894 and 336 models during the last thirty years . I am not inclined to risk my money with what is being offered now . Anyone else that is happy with them , that is great .

Did Jeff Cooper say that? I thought it was Elmer, sure sounds like him.

Hopefully they bring back the 336CB. A 24" 38-55 will be nice to see again.
I would be thrilled to have the 1895 laminate crud if I could get it at MSRP and not the scalper Gunbroker prices that "start" at $1850.00 starting bid.
I would settle for the Henry 45/70 X, but you can't even find those unless on Gunbroker starting at over $1600.00, I mean get real.
At those prices I will do without.

One thing everyone needs to get thru their heads is the fact that the days of the $500-700 Levergun are gone. $12-1400 is the new $700 and in case you haven't noticed virtually everything costs more since our friend in the Whitehouse took over. Diesel Fuel here in CA is $5.50 a gallon and that is the lowest it has been in the last 2 years. Just got back from Vegas and it was $1.00 cheaper over there so apparently CA is adding a buck a gallon just for spite.
So don't go complaining about the new prices cuz that is what the Company has to charge in order to stay in business. If you want to complain send it to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave DC !!!
Don't hold you breath waiting for a reply. They really don't care.

Agree with you there, except all my Charters have been excellent. They were all from the 1970's or 2000's, 80's and 90's versions are very haphazard. The current products from Charter are really good and I have had a few of them. Just gave my late model Undercover some exercise today and it kept up with my Smiths and Rugers no problem.
