JM 1895CB 45/70 vs South Texas Nanny Doe

Shot this doe in South, TX Sunday afternoon with my JM 1895CB in 45/70. Animal was on the move at 127 yards blowing the whistle, and was DRT. Bullet was not recovered, obviously.

I use the same boolit in my 45/70 and have taken several bison and a large feral hog with that boolit at 1800 fps. All were one shot kills. one bison and the hog dropped in their tracks and the other bison took 2-3 steps and dropped. Recoil is far better then using the 405 gr. boolit.
You have some good meals coming out of that doe.

Marlin CB's and Accurate molds go hand in hand. Congrates on the doe. I've dropped a number with nearly the same combination, cept I use the 405 that looks nearly identical to your 350.

Yeah that bothered me a bit. Doused the rifle in barricade when I got back to camp.

    Congrats, great shootin!
My 325 grain (listed) RCBS comes out about 340 but is plain base.

How much 5744 to obtain 1500 fps?

Good shooting and good eating. Good things come to those who wait and shoot straight.
