    350 Legend re-forming

Has anyone re-formed available cartridge cases to 350 Legend. If so, what case and how did you do it? I might like to try this but need some info to start. james

It is my understanding that there is no case that shares the same case head size as the 350 legend. .223/5.56 are about 0.010" or so smaller. Some have tried those but the difference could mean a case rupture of the smaller case if you push it too hard.

Everything else that is larger would require to sixe the case and then swage the head or turn off the extra material.

Not real many options. There should be a bit of brass available at times. Id suggest just buying factory new or 1x fired brass.

Member here Oldfeller had a detailed thread back when the Legend was introduced on trying to convert .223 brass to .350 Legend.

If you are really wanting to make your own brass look into 357 max rimless, or 357AR. Uses trimmed 223 cases at 357 max length.

The smaller diameter near the base for 223 is not great but is not a "deal breaker".

The bigger problem is that standard 223 brass will be too short after fireforming. Short is bad for a round that headspaces on the mouth.

Starline 350L brass or once fired from 350L commercial ammo are easy sources. Converting is not a good source.

A 357AR Max (I have one) works fine with converted 223. It is a pain, but it works.
