    Bench Gun Vise

I've been using a gun pad on my bench to clean my pistols and also using a tripod with a hog saddle to clean my rifles.

Need something not only to hold my rifles, but gun stocks with actions removed, pistols, AR's, etc. for general cleaning, bedding jobs, scope mounting, etc.

It needs to be portable so I can use it anywhere.

    What are ya'll using ?

I'm not using it now, but it seems a viable option for your goals. (actually I'm on tipton, but quite cumbersome etc.)

Food is overrated. A nice rifle is way more important.

    Bench Gun Vise

I have a Tipton Gun Butler that works well and even has a handle. It’s new and still clean so it’s in the hobby room.
It is not a vise, though.
I still use the MTM Caseguard cradle that I bought 30? years ago out in my shop.
    No complaints on it either.

I also love my Tipton, but don’t have AR’s. Some of the older models ( like mine) don’t work well with the AR geometry.

I use the real avid but it might need some imagination to make it portable like bolt it to a piece of plywood and use c clamps for light work like cleaning.

A little scrap wood, cheap hardware, wooden clamp and a bit of ingenuity, you can make your own.
