    Crescent roll Crema Cheese Danish

I was too lazy to make real cinnamon rolls today, so I got out my cream cheese Danish recipe since it's faster.

    Heat oven to 350F
Roll one sheet of the sheet version of crescent roll dough from the grocery store out in a 9 x 13 baking dish.
    I use the glass ones.
    Bake for 5 minutes.

Melt & mix: 2 blocks of grocery store cream cheese
    1 cup plain sugar
    1 Tsp. vanilla
Spread over the crescent roll sheet.

Put a 2nd rolled out sheet of crescent roll dough on top of that.
Mix & spread on top of 2nd sheet:
    1/4 cup real butter
    4 tbs sugar
    1 tbs ground cinnamon

    Bake 25-30 minutes.

It needs to cool before ya eat it.

If you eat the whole thing in one sitting, you might go into a sugar coma.
So it's best to stretch it out for two servings

stop it, stop it. i like many love good food, pastry, sweets, as well as meat and potatos. I have a sweet tooth I guess. but have a struggle with staying physically active enough to burn off excess calories

If you're in a real hurry, you can quickly make my official redneck version of cinnamon rolls:

Get one sheet of the crescent roll dough, roll it out flat.
Brush it with 1/4 cup real butter, 1 tbs cinnamon, 4 tbs sugar.

Roll the sheet back up from the long side.
Slice it into 1 inch lengths.

Lay those flat in a baking dish and bake about 12 minutes until golden brown at 350F

You can make a powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract glaze,
but mine don't usually last long enough to mix & put it on.

If you want to make some fruit crescents, just substitute fruit pie filling and put on the crescent rolls. I've found the four berry works best. If you like prune Danish, nice and easy with prune filling. I use the Cinnamon Bbun and Pastry Icing from Prepared Pantry. The icing makes all the difference.

Casino I worked at made a desert plate sized cinnamon roll, no icing, they brushed it with butter and put cinnamon sugar on top. Served warm and smothered in butter... it was out morning break pick me up and held us thru the lunch we often didn't get. They usually ran out of them by 10pm so we made sure to go in early, around 8:30(shift started at 6AM).

I've got a copy cat recipe for the Cinnabon company cinnamon rolls. They come out big like that.
They're really good, but I think I gain a couple of pounds just reading the recipe sheet and making them.

After I eat one, that's it for the morning,,,,,,,,, I get this very strong urge for a nap.
