browning hi-power hammer and safety assembly

ok, i surrender my ego. bought a as new fn hi-power. the safety is not stiff, it is almost unmoveable. its not lubrication. tore hammer assembly safety and springs (leaf and coil), sear and ejector out can't get the sequence for assembly right. there is very little about re-assembly of these parts. actually nothing that i can find on the internet that is understandable for me. almost all show slide removal and that is it. any detailed literature or info out there that might help? if i can get detailed instructions, i can re-assemble without breaking something!! help!!

Find yourself aa bubba box, put all parts in the box, rustle yourself to an older gunsmith who knows about Browning HPs and shame facedly hand him the box and ask for help.
To paraphrase Ronald Reagan, the trouble with many shooting experts is not that they're ignorant; its just that they know so much that isn't so.

I would love to be able to help you out.
But it has been so many years since I worked on my Browning Hi Powers.
But on one of the two that I still have , I installed an extended lever safety.
    From what I remember.
You have to clamp the mainspring in a certain position.
And to get the internal parts to line up for re inserting the pins.
You have to use short pins to keep them aligned as you insert the receiver pins or safety.
The dummy pins are pushed out by the regular pins.
I remember using short round toothpicks once as dummy pins since I didn't have any metal pins when I installed a Houge Safety.
    They worked.
But being wood , you take a chance of leaving splinters inside the gun at the hammer location.

Mine was like that and I replaced the safety with an extended one from Midway, fixed the safety problem. Anyway I'm sorry I can't help you but reassembling seemed straight forward to me and went right together.

    .

Here's a video/tutorial on the R&R of the internals - the reinstall starts with the stripped frame about 9mins into the 17min video.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bzfOA4gfnfA

The video is from a replacement spring company, but the process is the same for reinstalling the safety.
Now I lay me down to sleep
A gun beside me is what I keep
If I awake, and you're inside
The coroner's van is your next ride
