Was wanting to compile the load data for lee slugs.....Anyone know of any other data?

No data but I forgot I have 2 pounds of Vectan on the shelf I got cheap for use in pistol target loads. I'm going to dig up the shotgun data and try it out

The "Load of the Week" pdf's get cut off. The current Load of the Week archives don't have everything BPI has published. Not sure wht they don't include all loads but they don't I have downloaded many that do not currently appear but I htink this is all the slug load data I have seen in the Load of the Week archives.

I have some Lee Drive Key slug data in Reloading for Shotgunners too.

It would be nice to get a database together of all published pressure tested loads as they seem to be scattered around in random places with only a few showing up in manuals.

Those lee loads are for the most part butt stompers. When I was a bit younger and recoil proof I still had to load them down several grains.

Ditto on the Butt Stompers! I have no use for any home made Slug or Buckshot load above 1200-1250 fps.. If I need to shoot some Polar Bears I will buy a box of Brenneke's rather than rolling my own.

When consulting slug load data, I always start at the Velocity. If it is slightly above my tolerance level I can always omit a couple of grains of powder so I can get something that works for me. If you look at enough load data for shot shells you will start to see similarities and duplicates and those loads can be "interpolated" up or down to match up with other loads that develop the same pressures.

That is a good point that Hogtamer and Randy bring up. Dedicated slug loads tend to be on the high end of velocity and pressure which = recoil!

Of course a guy can download some but depending on the powder you are likely better off to use equal weight birdshot load data at the velocity you want to acheive if less than typical hot slug loads because you should get good powder burn then. Powders like BD don't like being downloaded too far. I found out that even Unique didn't like it when I subbed a 7/8 oz. Lee slug in a 1 1/8 oz. recipe. The payload was light enough, and maybe bore friction enough lower, that I got inconsistent results and some near bloopers.

I should have known better but thought Unique would be fast enough not to care that much. Green Dot was a better choice and worked well with the lighter payload. I had wanted to save the Green Dot for trap loads and I had lots of Unique. Oh well!

Anyway, wise words above if recoil is a concern. Birdshot data for equal weight payload usually makes for a more pleasant shooting load and there is no shortage of data.
