    AR15 Trigger

    I want to upgrade a trigger on a AR15
As I plan on using this rifle to hunt groundhogs
So I would like a about 5 Lb or less trigger pull

I was hoping to not need to get a several hundred $$ drop in trigger

I looked on Midway and the ALG Defense ACT Advanced Combat Trigger Group AR-15
They claim a 4 1/2 lb pull with one of the springs with this trigger group

    Any good ?
Or is there a better trigger group in the sub $100 price range ?

    Thanks
    John

Palmetto has a single stage drop in for under a hundred bucks. I bought one to try, and so far I love it. Online reviews are up and down, but so far mine is great.

I have several CMC drop in triggers. Been happy with them. A little over budget at about $120 on sale.

I really like these drop-in single stage triggers from Aim Surplus which have performed flawlessly for me. https://aimsurplus.com/search?qs=sst...=1&mode=search

Also, I install these KNS hammer and trigger pin 2nd generation, 2nd modification non-rotating AR-15 stainless steel pins with the Aim Surplus single stage triggers. https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1003368197?pid=528425

I use the Rise Armament 434 in all three of mine. Painless drop in and they work flawlessly.

I have 2 stage triggers on most of my rifles. They are solid upgrades over mil spec. But they are compromises. You want a good single stage trigger for smallest groups. Short take up and light pull will give you the best chance to break the shot without disturbing the sights. I have the old school JP in my target rifle. It was as good as you could get when I built it. Nowadays, a drop in trigger is what you want. Grit your teeth and pry open your wallet.

I have used the Rock Rivers for several builds. Recently purchased some Larues to try, but decided that I like the Rock Rivers much better. At least in the triggers I tried, there was some creep in the second stage of the Larue that I have not encountered in six or seven RRs.

The creep in the 2nd stage of the Larue seemed to get a little better with use, but still wasnt as good as the RRs I have installed.

So, my vote is for RRA 2-stage National Match triggers for the money.

I’ve used several brands of single stage drop in triggers that you can find on sale for well under $100. Most pull at 3 to 3 1/2 lbs. Break them in a little , all are a bunch better than the mil-speck ar-15 trigger. I don’t think you can go wrong.

My Varmint AR15 .223 has a CMC trigger (around $125) and it makes it easy to shoot small groups.
The AimSurplus single pull is around $80 and has a 4# pull on my house Gun. I’ve used the RR NM and Varmint models, they are good. My 6.8 has a Velocity and I like it too.
As said above, hard to go wrong.
