    H4198, IMR4198 AR-15 question

Any of you guys use IMR4198 or H4198 in a AR-15? If so what barrel and gas system, and what charge/bullet weight functioned for you

Tried once and got too much bridging across the mouth of the case making a mess. IMO there are a lot better powders to use for 223.

I did run IMR4198 in Colt M16A1 carbine, 14.5" barrel, with 55 gr fmjbt bullets. No issues. 20.5 grs. The carbine has a different port size & location, then their rifle. . The AR15 port size is different between manufactures. The port pressure must be correct to work the action.

    IMR4198 also worked in Ruger Mini-14 & old Armalite AR 180 , 5.56.
