Thread: I assume the lee factory crimp die is not to be used with oversized cast boolits?

    I agree with this totally, especially if we're talking about cast bullets in a pistol cartridge. I use a roll crimp for revolvers and I still use my FCD for my blasting .223 ammo but I may abandon it for that, too. I see no positives and only negatives for using it in pistol cartridges, which should use a taper crimp to knock the bell out.

    The carbide FCD for semi-auto's is a normal taper crimp.
