    Twenty nine grs of 748 under the Lee C309170F in my 30-30 was pleasant and accurate. Three shots in .20" @40yds accurate. I'll echo others about using it in the .223 also- good stuff.

    A quick run through Winchester pamphlet #15 shows it goes bang in the following cartridges:
    222, 223, 223Mag, 22-250, 250 Savage, 284 Win, 30 Rem, 303 Savage, 303 British, 30-30, 307 & 308 Win, 30-06, 8x57, 356 & 358 Win, 35 Remington.

    Yes, that is what I was referring to. Looks like I was a bit confused on larry's powder. Thanks. I was raised in Bozeman until 1972. Some good football between the two of us.

    farmer66, Yeah, the Cats took it this year.

    I've been loading the Lee 155 7.62 X 39 bullet in .308 as a good round for offhand practice. I've been using some old H4895 but am down to less than a pound of that. A couple of years ago I too was gifted an 8 pounder of 748. I haven't really done anything with it, but am thinking now that it might make a good replacement powder for practice rounds at 1900 to 2000 fps in the .308.
