For the family of Athena Strand, a 7 year old girl who was taken and murdered by a FedEx driver in Wise County, Texas. Mere miles from here.
I can't imagine the horror that the family is experiencing right now.
I keep thinking of Jesus and the mill stone proposal when I think of that monster that took her life.

This is one of those times where forgiveness escapes me. May God bring His peace and comfort for Athena's family and friends.

Having worked with some folks that had a young daughter murdered years ago, my prayers go up for this family! They have passed on as now, and I'm convinced that the pursuit of seeing the murder put to death (he eventually was) robbed them of their peace and health. May God grant this family peace!

I saw this on Fox News website. There are photos of the victim and the guy who did it, a Fed-Ex driver. He looks pretty normal--nothing to set him apart as a monster. Her grandfather says that he has forgiven the perpetrator. I'm afraid that such would be beyond my ability.

"Children are expected to bury their parents who were/are expected to bury their parents", et cetera. So tragic it is when it goes the other way -- be it an accident or terminal illness. But to have a child -- ONE'S child -- taken away and murdered: I cannot imagine! My prayers surely are for the little girl -- rest her soul, not even imagining her last hours of life -- as well as her friends, acquaintances, and mostly, too, her mom, dad, and family.
Re the perp, I am globally aphasic -- perhaps a bit in shock that this tragedy happened.
