    when to dump paper hulls

I still have a lot of federal maroon/red paper hulls which I reload. My question is: When do you dump the hulls if they show signs of pin-holes along the edge where the paper meets the brass? I see some very, very slight pin holes, can they be repaired? Or is it best to just trash these hulls?

No repairs. If you see pinholes, the paper is getting thin down there. The next thing to happen is hull separation from the base.

If they get ragged on the end, trim the star crimp and start roll crimping. Pinholes along the brass are not fixable.

    .

Cut the paper free of the shell & convert the brass into dry-firing snap caps by pushing a lead pencil eraser into the empty primer hole.
