The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

My Henry loves the Lyman 292 as cast and dipped in LLA!
Currently casting and loading: .32 Auto, .380 Auto, .38 Special, 9X19, .357 Magnum, .257 Roberts, 6.5 Creedmoor, .30 WCF, .308 WCF, .45-70.
Unless you are hunting the great bears, or cape buffalo, or target shooting past 300 yards, there is little need for bullets heavier than the 290-325 grainers. Recoil is significant in the lightweight lever guns when bullet weight climbs. I like the the RCBS 45-300 Flat nose Gas Check for most shooting. A plain base 300 grain works well for under 1300-1400 fps. In a Marlin you might want to size to .460-.461 for less leading, better accuracy. I have shot at least a dozen elk and a moose with the 300 grain bullets and have no reason to go heavier unless for bison.
